Former ‘Mob Wives’ star says ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ ripped off her life story for character in game: suit
By : gemy
The hit video game “Grand Theft Auto V” is illegally imitating life, according to a former “Mob Wives” star.
Karen Gravano, the daughter Salvatore (Sammy the Bull) Gravano, filed a $40 million lawsuit against the makers of the massively popular game, claiming her image and life story have been incorporated into the mafia-themed game without permission.
“Notwithstanding the fact that plaintiff has the utmost respect for the writers and creators of the Grand Theft Auto V video game…her story is unique and is hers to tell,” according to papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court Monday.
The ripped-off character is Antonia Bottino, said Gravano’s lawyer Thomas Farinella.
The animated hottie is rescued by the game's main character after getting buried alive off a dirt road.

She then recounts how a murder charge was pinned on her father and how the family was forced to be “moving around safe houses in rat-hole hick towns where no one comes looking,” according to an online synopsis of GTA V.
Her fictional dad, former Gambetti family underboss Sammy (Sonny) Bottino, eventually became a snitch, acquiring many enemies. He would not allow her to participate in a show called “Wise Bitches,” an obvious takedown of the VH1 reality show.
The wildly popular video game cleared $1 billion in sales in just three days.
Sammy Bottino is widely believed to be based on Gravano's father, a Gambino underboss who became a turncoat, helping to bring down John Gotti.
Karen Gravano was a cast member in the first three seasons of “Mob Wives,” which follows women whose fathers or husbands have ties to the mafia.
She was kicked out before the fourth season, which debuted last December.

But she’s still allegedly in play on the Rockstar Games smash hit, which became the fastest entertainment product to gross $1 billion, reaching that target after only three days after its release last fall.
The lawsuit claims that besides having her image used without consent, Gravano “is releasing a second book containing the parts of not-so known aspects of the story used by defendant.”
It added that the game producers could have sought her permission “with relative ease, which may have (averted) this action.”
The court papers ask for $20 million in compensation and another $20 million in punitive damages.
A spokesman for the video game company said: "We do not comment on legal matters."

GTA 5: Carmageddon Mod Lands Los Santos in Utter Chaos [VIDEO]
By : gemy
A discerning GTA 5 modder, taltigolt (of Tsunami Mod fame), has created the ultimate killer machine in the game with Carmageddon Mod that lands the often quiet and peaceful city of Los Santos into utter chaos as massive destruction and disorder prevails on the streets with cars flying from all directions.
One glance at the video published by the modder makes you wonder if there is any safe haven left to hide yourself from the devastatingly destructive and life-threatening army of cars that run amok in the chaos-ridden streets of southern California.
The Carmageddon mod brings you a heady experience of wild cars and trucks often spinning out of control, taking crazy turns, flipping over and catching fire or exploding without notice.
There seems no better way to get killed in GTA 5, as you would have thought there is barely any challenge from the peace-loving and law-abiding people of Los Santos and Blaine County.
If you are looking for some live action with the Carmageddon Mod, check out the video below:
GTA 5: Unlimited Money via Car Duplication Glitch in 1.10 Patch [VIDEO]
By : gemy
Rockstar recently released its newest 1.10 title update to patch up several exploits unearthed in the previous bug-fix update (1.09) for Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) Online.
Nevertheless, discerning GTA gamers have devised some new ways of exploiting the unlimited money and RP glitches using loopholes within the game in online mode. Once again, greedy gamers are behind the popular car duplication glitch to make unlimited money and get super rich in no time.
IBTimes UK explores the possible outcomes of using the infinite money and car-duplication glitch with the aid of a few YouTube videos posted online. However, be advised that using such glitches could result in attracting "bad sport" title from fellow players or get you placed in the Cheater Pool or in the worst case result in a permanent account ban from Rockstar.
How to Earn Unlimited Money via Car Duplication Glitch in 1.10 Patch
- For this glitch to work, you need a friend, an expensive car and a BMX bike in your garage.
- Take the car (choose an expensive one) you want to duplicate and park it just outside the garage.
- Enter the garage and take your BMX bike. Now, before you open the garage door to step out, call your friend and ask him to stand in front of your garage and keep two sticky bombs handy for you.
Tip:The catch here is to damage your car and get yourself killed in the accident by asking your friend to throw some sticky bombs behind your car, right at the moment you are stepping out of the garage with your BMX (when the garage door is open).
- Avoid touching any controller buttons at this moment and make sure the car is placed very close to the garage door ( a convenient way to get killed and then respawn somewhere nearby).
- Now, ask your friend to drive your car back to you.Take the car to the nearest Los Santos Customs shop and sell it (your car will respawn or duplicate at this moment).
- Once you exit the Customs shop, call your mechanic and place a Request for Personal Vehicle. Choose the same car which you sold at the shop and get it delivered to your location.
- Drive the duplicated car back to your garage. Before you re-enter the garage just purchase a new BMX bike.
- Rinse and repeat this process as many times as you wish to make unlimited money in GTA 5 with 1.10 patch installed.

GTA 5: 3-Weeks of Forced Playing Makes Japanese Kid Indisposed; Demand for Pet Dog Ownership Grows
By : gemy
The boy was reportedly forced by his step-father, Maasa Kawabata, 28, to play the game for at least three hours daily and with no breaks in between for a period of three weeks, reported Weird Asia News.
It also claims that Kawabata was a nurse and was arrested in January 2014 on suspicion that he was harming the child's welfare. He, however, had wished for the child's death.
Kawabata had married, the child's mother in October 2012 and ever since had forced him to play video games when his mom was away since he thought the boy was "stupid," a "moron" and wanted him to "die."
The boy started to complain of being nauseatic and complained of headaches and stomach pain. It was diagnosed that the boy had a problem with his autonomic nervous system that was a result for the stress due to extended gameplay, resulting in fast heartbeats, high blood pressure and digestive tract malfunctions.

GTA 5 gets a Valentine's update with sexy underwear and less sexy bug fixes
By : gemy
GAMES DEVEOPER Rockstar has updated its console smash Grand Theft Auto V(GTA 5) and talked up a long list of fixes and additional features.
GTA 5 smashed its way onto consoles late last year. It had a slightly troubled online launch and has suffered at the hands of cash bounty exploiting gamer accounts.
Now on Valentines Day Rockstar has given the game thorough polishing, patching some problems and adding new features, including the ability to blow a kiss at someone. Some of the changes will be free and boost gameplay, while others can be paid for and will add to its coffers.
"Valentine's Day in Los Santos is almost here, and the Valentine's Day Massacre Special update for GTA Online is now available, featuring some surprise gifts for all you lovers and lotharios," barked Rockstar.
"This includes a variety of fun Valentine's themed extras for Story Mode and GTA Online like the Gusenberg Sweeper machine gun, the new Albany Roosevelt ride and a host of new attire options like double breasted suits, flapper dresses, sexy undergarments, novelty t-shirts, hats, masks and more. These items are all available to purchase in GTA Online right now until the end of February - and once acquired they're yours to keep in your inventory for good."
Along with these flashy additions are some real updates. Rockstar has a long list of these and they range from adding new jobs through tidying up cornrow haircuts.
The games firm has released two sources of information on this, one on its blog and one on its support website. Naturally the support website is the more informative of the two.
Players will no longer be able to bung cash to other gamers, as that feature has been abused, and those who wound another gamer in the online version will have to pay their hospital bills.
The list is long, and taken out of context some of the changes are quite interesting. We learn, for example, that removing a mask in the game will no longer make you go bald and that you will now be able to drink a can of cola while parachuting. µ

GTA video spoof shows man on hunt for Cornish pasties
By : gemy
would be like if the series was set in Cornwall.
The YouTube clip from comedy writer Colin Leggo combines scenes from the game with a West Country voiceover and follows one man’s hunt to find a Cornish pasty.
‘A mate lent me a copy of the game and I just found it overly violent,’ Mr Leggo told the Daily Mail.
‘I started amusing myself with comedy accents and having a little fun with it and the video just evolved from there.
‘I’m satirising the violence in a way because the game is so ridiculous you may as well make it look even more ridiculous by introducing a pasty shop.’
The clip has racked up thousands of hits online.

CELEBRATE VALENTINE’S DAY BY CREATING YOUR OWN MASSACRE IN GTA ONLINE
By : gemy
There are a lot of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. You may choose to spend time with your special someone (or someones, we won’t judge you … although they might when they catch you). You may decide to aggressively ignore the pseudo-holiday and hang out with other like-minded revelers. Or you could always choose the “none of the above” option, fire up Grand Theft Auto 5, log on to GTA Online, and create as much mayhem as possible. But with love.
The “Valentine’s Day Massacre Special” update for GTA Online is available now at no cost. Just fire up your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and the automatic update will take care of the rest. Once that is complete, you are free to create havoc, possibly with that special someone waiting for you online.
The update includes 10 new, loosely themed Valentine’s Day jobs. A few of those include the following:
- “Shotgun Wedding” (Team Deathmatch): The title says it all. Small-scale Deathmatch around the church in Paleto Bay that’s locked to shotguns. It’ll be a lot less bloody than divorce.
- “Property Values” (Deathmatch): Forget about love, nothing’s going to break your heart like the price of real estate. Free-for-all Deathmatch on an unaffordable cul-de-sac near Mirror Park. Look out for the sniper on the grassy knoll.
- “Creek” (Parachuting): Nothing says ‘I’m in love’ like throwing yourself out of a chopper with up to seven other idiots. A steep dive, almost skirting the side of the Raton Canyon, gliding into Cassidy Creek.
- “Vinewood Tours” (Race): Who needs love when you’ve got booze in your belly and stars in your eyes? Lap race for cars and bikes taking in all the tourist sights of Vinewood and Rockford Hills.
- “Motorboating” (Sea Race): A good motorboating is all anyone wants for Valentine’s Day. Take your love for a trip around buoys and over jumps to the North of Mount Gordo.
- “Heart Breaker” (Bike Race): Make your feelings known by carving a love heart into the Grand Senora Desert. Hills and jumps abound in this mainly off-road lap race for bikes on a heart-shaped track.
The update also includes a Social Club weekend event featuring special in-game RP bonuses, Crate Drops, and more. The Rat Loader truck also returns thanks to the update, and it is available for no cost – at least until the next update. Rockstar notes that some users may have lost their beloved Rat Loader from their garage during GTA Online’s early wilderness days, when things were running less than smoothly for the online game.
To really make the day feel special though, Rockstar is including several smaller additions like the Gusenberg Sweeper machine gun, the Albany Roosevelt ride, and plenty of new attire, including: double-breasted suits, flapper dresses, sexy undergarments, novelty t-shirt, hats, masks, and more. All items are available now for purchase, but they will disappear at the end of February. Items remain in your inventory once purchased.
So forget flowers. Who cares about candy? Fancy dinners are expensive. This Valentine’s Day jump online and help lovingly burn Los Santos to the ground.

‘GTA 5’ publisher hiring for new PS4 and Xbox One video game
By : gemy
The publisher of “Grand Theft Auto 5” is hiring for a newPS4 and Xbox One video game. According to a report from iGame Responsibly on Feb. 10, Rockstar Gamessent out job offers looking to add multiple programmers to the development team of Rockstar New England.
The first programmer is expected to “help push forward technology related to ragdolls, cloth, fragments, collision – amongst others – that make our worlds come alive.” Moreover, the graphics programmer is going to be responsible for helping the studio “extend the capabilities” of the internal graphics engine to create “exciting visuals for Rockstar’s next big title.”
Before being acquired by the publisher of “GTA 5” in 2008, Rockstar New England was known as Mad Doc Software. The studio is best known for the “Empire Earth” series. Under the Rockstar Games umbrella, the development worked on “Bully: Scholarship Edition,” “Max Payne 3” and the aforesaid “Grand Theft Auto 5.”
The publisher previously disclosed that a few projects are already underway for the PS4 and Xbox One next-generation systems. Potential sequels to the “Bully” and “Read Dead Redemption” franchises have been rumored for quiet some time. A few analysts also believed that “Grand Theft Auto 5” would eventually be ported to the new consoles as well.
You can view some screens of “GTA 5” on the PS3 and Xbox 360, which launched last year, in the slideshow to the left side of this article.

GTA 5 Online Valentine's Day DLC Arrives On Xbox 360, PS3
By : gemy
Rockstar Games has decided to release the Valentine's Day Massacre Special DLC for GTA 5 a day early. You can download update 1.1 now for no charge on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
The Valentine's Day DLC adds several items with a 1920's theme. You can dress up your GTA Online and GTA 5 characters with flapper dresses, double-breasted suits and more. You can also arm them with the Gusenberg Sweeper machinegun (basically a Tommy gun) or drive around in the retro Albany Roosevelt limo.
These items will only be available in GTA Online for a limited time, though. The game will stop selling them at the end of February. Once you've bought them, though, they'll stay in your inventory permanently.
The Valentine's Day Massacre Special provides 10 new jobs as well. Here are a few examples that the developers announced on the Rockstar Newswire
- "Shotgun Wedding" (Team Deathmatch): The title says it all. Small-scale Deathmatch around the church in Paleto Bay that’s locked to shotguns. It’ll be a lot less bloody than divorce.
- "Motorboating" (Sea Race): A good motorboating is all anyone wants for Valentine’s Day. Take your love for a trip around buoys and over jumps to the North of Mount Gordo.
- "Heart Breaker" (Bike Race): Make your feelings known by carving a love heart into the Grand Senora Desert. Hills and jumps in this mainly off-road lap race for bikes on a heart-shaped track.
Today's patch also reintroduces the Rat Loader pickup truck to GTA Online after a long absence. The vehicle and its mods are free until the next title update. You can purchase it through the in-game website southernsanandreassuperautos.com.
The title update makes several tweaks and fixes as well. Characters should no longer go bald from masks. Several duplicate vehicle and RP gain exploits have been removed as well. Solo players will now be able to earn GTA$ from races. If you kill a passive player, you have to pay their hospital bill. The full list of fixes can be found at theRockstar Support site.
Rockstar is commemorating the update's arrival with a Social Club weekend event. Players can expect RP bonuses, crate drops and more. The devs are planning a livestream broadcast for Friday afternoon.
Update 1.1 will be downloaded automatically when you log into GTA 5 with an internet-connected console. Xbox 360 gamers will have to install an additional compatibility pack as well. The Valentine's Day Massacre Special can then be downloaded from the in-game store.
The development team has other DLC for GTA Online in the works as well. They plan to announce new information for the Content Creator, a Dangerous Business Pack, and long-awaited Online Heists soon.
